New work-life resource portal launched

The online portal is meant to help HR managers implement effective work-life strategies, says Minister Teo Ser Luck

Minister of State for Manpower Teo Ser Luck officially launched Singapore’s first integrated work-life resource portal recently and he said work-life friendly workplaces remain relevant despite uncertain times.

“In up times or down times, companies have to take care of their staff. If you take care of your staff, they will take care of your customers," he said.

The portal, WorkLifeWorks.sg, is meant “to give workers and HR managers a space to share ideas on how to overcome problems faced in the pursuit of work-life strategies,” reported The Straits Times.

Teo further advocated flexible work arrangements (FWA) as a way for “employers to show they care”.

“Work-life friendly workplaces remain relevant in uncertain times like these [and] having a ‘culture of trust’ is crucial to keeping a company intact,” he added.

The online portal is a joint project between the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) and the Tripartite Committee on Work-Life Strategy, of which Teo is the chairman.

At the official launch of WorkLifeWorks!, he also disclosed two new FWA training courses meant to equip HR leaders and managers with the key skills and knowledge to implement FWAs.
