Breaking: Worker killed in industrial explosion

A series of explosions has occurred in a Jurong industrial site, killing one worker and injuring several more

Multiple explosions ripped through the Leeden National Oxygen plant in Tanjong Kling at 9.30am this morning (12 October).
 
While staff were evacuated to the Natsteel premises located adjacent, one worker was pronounced dead on the scene. Seven workers were rushed to the National University Hospital to be treated for burns, lacerations and smoke inhalation.
 
Fire engines, ambulances and a number of support vehicles have been dispatched to the plant.
 
At the time of writing, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) is onsite conducting a rescue and containment operation.
 
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
