31% of employers think that having experience on a resume shows that a jobseeker is motivated
Experience isn’t everything; as a recent report has found that 67% of employees landed their first job without any previous know-how.
CV-Library has found that three quarters of workers have not taken part in any work experience, despite it still being considered as an important factor on a candidate’s CV.
31% of employers think that having experience on a resume shows that a jobseeker is motivated, with a further 21% saying it introduces them well into the world of work.
“It’s good to see that companies are hiring candidates who might not have a great deal of work experience, particularly when younger professionals are trying to get their foot in the door,” said Lee Biggins founder and managing director of CV-Library.
“Despite the finding, work experience is still extremely beneficial to both candidates and employers and is always an important focus on a CV. That said, it’s important to take a candidate’s entire CV into consideration when recruiting.
“After all, you don’t have to rule out a great potential candidate just because they don’t have any relevant work experience.”
