The Ministry of Manpower has awarded the National HR Scholarships to seven talented individuals, highlighting the high quality HR potential that is out there
Seven undergraduates have been awarded the National HR Scholarships (NHRS) after a careful selection process by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and several sponsoring companies.
The scholarship recipients were chosen from 54 eligible candidates from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and Singapore Management University (SMU). Each is listed with their university and sponsor company below:
Besides their passion in HR, career motivation and fit with the companies, “these seven individuals also have a strong spirit of volunteerism,” Mr Ow Seng Fong, Director of National Human-Capital Office, MOM told HRD.
“These awards are meant to support the pipeline of local organisations and to help groom the next generation of future HR leaders,” added Mr Ow.
The recipients are still pursuing a degree and will join their sponsor company upon graduation. During the course of their studies, they will be able to tap into a $25,000 development fund to use for personal and professional development, including overseas exchange programs and HR training courses.
The national HR scholarship is targeted at outstanding undergraduates to raise awareness of the importance of HR at the undergraduate level and elevate HR as a great career choice.
For employers who wish to sponsor next year’s NHRS winners, more details on the scholarship will be made known in due course.
